Below are the steps for you as the student to request a proctoring appointment in Navigate. While it looks like many steps, it only takes a few minutes.

Communicate with your instructor and request an appointment time for proctoring on Navigate at least two business days prior to the date needed. An automatic notification of the request will be sent to the SSC.

Log into Navigate through the WMCC Student Portal.
Under “Appointments,” click on “Request an Appointment Time.”

From the drop-down menus, choose “I Need Help With Classwork” then “I Need an Appointment for Proctoring.”

On the next screen, choose the location (Learning Commons Berlin or Learning Commons Littleton) at which you need proctoring.

Next, enter several different days/times you are available during SSC hours and click on “Request.”

NOTE: The SSC cannot provide accommodations beyond a quiet testing space and assessment proctoring. Instructors should contact Lynne Bacon, Accessibilities Coordinator, for students needing additional accommodations. Students without a Letter of Accommodation (LOA) who believe they need additional support should also contact Lynne to explore eligibility.

Student Expectations for SSC Proctoring

Students can expect:

a reasonably quiet space to take their assessment
a proctor from the SSC to oversee the assessment
access to the assessment and any instructor-approved materials

Students are expected to:

Arrive on time at the designated location (Learning Commons – Berlin, or SSC – Littleton). Late arrivals will not receive additional time.
Use the restroom beforehand and bring water if needed.
Bring all necessary materials as permitted by the instructor.
Silence all electronic devices. Phones and smartwatches must be left with the proctor.
Store personal belongings with the proctor before beginning the assessment.
Adhere to WMCC’s Academic Honesty policy. If academic dishonesty is suspected, the proctor will confiscate the assessment and notify the instructor immediately.
